Donating to The Susan Pearlstine Center of Excellence at MUSC

We need additional funding to better understand and manage sarcoidosis. Private philanthropy will be vital to achieve our ultimate goal of discovering a cure.

Gifts to the Sarcoidosis Center at MUSC can make a substantial positive impact. Fueled by philanthropic support, our team currently is working to:

  • Develop and launch a new smartphone app that helps improve fatigue in sarcoidosis patients.
  • Identify biomarkers that may indicate whether a patient is at higher risk of scarring in the lungs.
  • Standardize care across the entire network of hospitals now operated in S.C. by MUSC Health.
  • Identify a leader dedicated to better understanding how sarcoidosis begins and progresses.
  • Build a Sarcoidosis Biobank to help us better understand differences in disease severity between patients.
